I have been a quilter for many years & am a member of the Heartland Quilters Guild. Having whittled down my own UFO pile I started to quilt for others and have found it to be a lot of fun. I have quilted everything from wall hangings and baby quilts to California King sized (120" x 120")which is about as large as I want to go.

Quilting Services

Quilting labor costs are based on the size of the quilt. Multiply the top's width by the top's length to get the total square inches. Multiply the total square inches by the cost(shown in the chart below)to quilt the pattern you have chosen. A simple pattern takes less time to complete, uses less thread and costs a bit less.

I have a minimum charge of $30 for basting and $45 for quilting.

BACKING AND BATTING need to be a at least of 8" longer and wider than your quilt top. For example a 60 x 72 top would need backing and batting 68 x 80. If you are seaming a backing please use a 1/2" seam and double stitch (stitch twice), then press the seam to one side.

QUALITY OF BATTING : Poor quality battings are not neccessarily only the cheap ones. I reserve the right to refuse & return customer supplied batting if it will not allow me to complete the job satisfactorily.

A new needle for each quilt and one color thread is included in the basic charge. I highly recommend that you use the same thread color front and back, this prevents 'those little dots'. If you insist on different colors you WILL get 'those little dots' and I will charge you $6 for the thread change. I cannot quilt over embellishments , so please wait to add them until after you get your quilt back. FUSIBLE APPLIQUE quilts can be quite beautiful but the fused areas cause stitch skipping, which in turn makes customers unhappy, so, regretfully, I do not quilt them.

Other Services

Machine Basting: If you prefer to hand quilt your top I can baste it for you, imagine, no more sore fingers from pinning and unpinning! No more rust marks either. Charges are shown in the chart above.

Half Binding:   This includes trimming and squaring the quilted top, making bias binding (from one yard of your fabric) and machine stitching the binding to the front of your quilt ready for you to turn and hand stitch to the back. The charge for this is 10c per inch.

Hand Finishing: If you would like me to turn the binding and hand stitch it to the back using a fine almost invisible stitch the charge will be an additional 15c per inch.

Like to piece tops, but don't enjoy wrestling with your sewing machine to get them quilted?

Let me quilt them for you on my beautiful Kenquilt Princess with her Intellistitch Turbo CL. Let's whittle down that pile together!
